Hello everyone, I'm having trouble finding a game that would keep me engaged for an entire hour. I'm not sure if it's the right genre or title, but games like DarkSouls 2 and Watch Dogs come to mind because they feel immersive. Outside of those, it's hard to spot a solid offline single-player experience that holds my interest. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has a list of their favorite offline games from this year—just want a top 5 or top 10 without MMOs or MOBA titles like LoL.
It was a bit rough in 2014 for PC gaming. But you might enjoy Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Far Cry 4, and Elite: Dangerous if you like space-themed games.
I realized that having a really bad laptop taught me to prioritize older titles. When newer games are scarce, opt for classics or older releases. If there’s nothing new from this year, pick something from the past. And if you have a console, enjoy it. You could also look for hidden gems that aren’t widely recognized.
In the isolation of Alien, most of the other titles this year felt average, resembling faint echoes of Mordor and nowhere near the quality of Far Cry 4.
I've just tried two fresh titles this year: 5 Dark Souls 2, 4 SSB on 3DS, 3 Dark Souls 2, and 2 SSB on 3DS, plus 1 Dark Souls 2.
Sure, if you're counting WoW, it does. Keeping it to 2014 would make it really special, aiming for the top five instead of ten, since there weren't that many great games that year. Still, it'd be awesome!
