My system isn't posting after two months despite working properly
Yesterday I attempted to start the PC but ended up realizing it hasn’t booted after two months.
The ARGB light on MOBO is illuminated once the PC is connected to the power source, yet the switch remains ineffective.
I searched online extensively without success—tried removing all peripherals, fans, and even the CPU and main power cable. Nothing worked.
After many attempts to resolve the issue, I decided to test everything again just to confirm.
Starting from scratch:
1. Disconnected all peripherals and monitor (no luck).
2. Removed all fans and the AI cooler, checking if booting with RAM ARGB would help (no success).
3. Removed the SSD (no effect).
4. Unplugged and re-plugged the CPU and main 24-pin cable (still no result).
5. Tried booting with a single RAM stick (no improvement).
6. Tested both 2 sticks of RAM at each socket (no change).
At this point, I suspected the power supply unit might be faulty.
I replaced it with a fully functional one, but it still wouldn’t start.
I checked everything else—peripherals, fans, cables, even the PSU was a Corsair RMA850X (850W), and the case used a Lanceool 2 or 3 with an Adus 3 fan.
The motherboard details are: TUF Gaming Z790 Plus with Wi-Fi DDR5, CPU 13700K, GPU Zotac 4070 Ti, AIO LT720, RAM GSKILL Z5 Trident 32GB 6400 CL32, and a PSU rated at 600W Gold.
The SSD is a Samsung 990 Pro (1TB), and I used a 3 Adus fan for the case.
I also tested everything via my phone flash drive—no signs of damage or unusual odors.
Just to be sure, I changed the power outlet, but it didn’t help either.
Despite all these efforts, the PC remained unresponsive.
My setup is:
- Gaming board: TUF Gaming Z790 Plus with Wi-Fi DDR5
- CPU: 13700K
- GPU: Zotac 4070 Ti (AIO)
- RAM: GSKILL Z5 Trident 32GB 6400 CL32
- PSU: Corsair RMA850X (850W)
- SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 1TB
- Case: Lanceool 2 or 3 with Adus 3 fan
- Outlet: New one installed
Anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this sudden issue?
Consider attempting to reset the CMOS by either shorting the appropriate pins on the motherboard or taking out the battery.
