Noted the sole concern I observed from the post. However, setting up a bootable Windows USB on a Chromebook could pose challenges. The official Media Creation Tool requires another Windows system to operate.

Great news!!! Thank you so much for your response! I completely agree—it's better for my son to respond directly. He stayed up until around 6 a.m. trying to fix the computer, and he's still asleep now. That's why I'm hopeful today when he woke up. I'll let him see this!

You shouldn't have to use a different program for Windows apps; there are tools that mimic Linux environments on Windows.

Honestly, I’m a bit confused. Since ChromeOS can run Windows apps directly, that’s something new for me, and I haven’t used it before.

The PC starts up, you notice fan activity and spinning, the screen displays an image. There isn’t a separate video card listed; check if the monitor is connected to it directly instead of the motherboard.
