i7 4790k running at 4.8 ghz with Corsair H80i CPU cooler on an MSI z97-Krait edition motherboard. Equipped with 16gb Hyper X Fury DDR3 RAM, a 1866 White Edition 248gb SSD, and a 7200 Zotac GTX 970 overclocked to 1475 cores and 7806 memory clock. Features RAIDmax Seiran Blue/White edition mid-tower design. Powered by a 750w PSU, running Windows 7 (planning to switch to Windows 10).
i5 4690k with 4.5ghz graphics card and GTX 970 at around 1400mhz cooler. Nepton 240M master works well for me. I occasionally notice some issues and frame drops, but it’s definitely usable.
Mines such as, "Hold on a second? You have additional threads? Why not simply ignore the CPU and leverage all those stream processors?"
I was planning to assemble a Star Citizen rig using a Xeon or i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 980ti/390 system. But with the game's delays and postponements, I’ve decided to give up. I’d probably consider spending more than $700, aiming for around $1,200 if everything gets fully released and optimized. Until then, we can’t be certain about the final cost.
