My second monitor screen went black when I tried to use both Photoshop and AutoCAD LT in 2021
Since my monitor went dark recently when opening Photoshop or AutoCAD, turning back on after clicking out is normal. I have a good graphics driver, so this isn't that problem. My main screen is an AOC 272G3 running at 1920x1080, and my secondary is a Dell S2719DGF at 2560x1440. The AOC one shuts down; only the display goes black when I use it. I can still move the cursor and see where things are pointing, but the items just disappear until I actually click out of the app.
I finally figured out why I had been having trouble! Turns out my AOC monitor supports G-SYNC, and my setting was already set to turn that on for both game windows and when running full screen. Once I just changed it to "Enabled for full screen mode," the problem stopped happening.
It seems like I found a way out by accident! The AOC monitor has G-SYNC built-in, so my choice was actually on the right track. When I switched that setting off and back on just for "Enable for windowed mode," everything stopped working as it used to. Now it works perfectly in fullscreen too.
