My Question Pc keeps crashing and freezing whenever I’m trying to play something, it just completely locks up.
Hey guys, I have been having this problem since a month or two. I built this pc 4 months ago or so and I cant stand it anymore.
When I turn on my pc everythhing works fine until I start playing a game and it freezes but the audio keeps going a little bit. It happened with League of legends and other games that are a lot heavier like Sekiro or the witcher 3.
The weird thing is that when I use discord I can still hear my friends for some seconds and then it completly freezes.
My specs are:
gpu: radeon rx 570 4gb
cpu: Ryzen 5 1600
mob: ASROCK a320m-hdv
ram: 8 gb ddr4 t vulcan
psu: evga 500 w.
I sent it to a technician and he told me the problem was the gpu but when I sent the gpu to get a revision they told me it was in perfect conditions.
pd: The hdd is a new one since I used an old one and I have an ssd.
I hope you can help me, thanx!.
Is the PSU powerful enough for this setup? And could you check to see if your CPU and graphics card are overheating while you’re playing games?
The W1 score is significantly lower than I’d expect for a system running at 570. This might be contributing to the issue. Let’s try updating your drivers and also resetting the CMOS – that could help resolve it.
Let’s check the age of this power supply – it's been on the market for a while now, and honestly, it wasn’t considered top-tier when it was first released. Because my graphics card needs a 450-watt supply, and this one is a six-year-old 500-watt model that shows some ripple on its 12-volt rail, even when it was new, upgrading to a different power supply might be a good idea.
My old power supply—a 520W unit—finally gave out while running with an RX570. I then upgraded to 700W PSUs, and everything’s been running smoothly since. If you're experiencing instability, try reducing the GPU clock speed to see if that helps stabilize your system.
I had classes running late until midnight in Argentina. Once I’m back home, I'll probably adjust the engine clock – if it does the trick, I’m going to get a replacement.
