I was thinking about creating a poll to find out which weapon is most popular among players here. (At least on this site.) Feel free to share your reasoning in the discussion too. For me, it's shotguns—especially lever or pump-action models. Fully automatic ones just feel too easy for me.

I’d opt for a semi-automatic rifle for long distances if you can maintain your aim. I’d avoid shotguns altogether—strongly against them. I’d prefer a slingshot over a shotgun instead.
