Here’s a rewritten version of your text, focusing on clarity and potential solutions:

“My computer experiences significant slowdowns whenever I download files or install updates. This isn't just a temporary lag; it consistently becomes unusable – the mouse moves with extreme delay, and the system struggles to respond. While my internet connection is fast compared to my friends’ (we all have similar speeds), they don't experience this same issue when downloading. It feels like the computer itself is struggling to handle the download process. I suspect it might be related to how the operating system manages disk access during downloads, or perhaps a temporary file buildup. I've tried restarting multiple times, but the problem persists.”

Here’s another version focusing on potential troubleshooting:

“I'm encountering a frustrating issue with my computer’s performance during downloads and updates. It consistently becomes incredibly slow – unresponsive to mouse movements and generally sluggish. This isn’t just a momentary lag; it’s a full-blown freeze that makes the system unusable. My internet speed is comparable to others, but they don't experience this slowdown when downloading. I suspect there might be an issue with disk caching or temporary files interfering with the download process. Possible solutions include running Disk Cleanup, defragging my hard drive (if it’s not SSD), or checking for driver conflicts. It seems like the computer is struggling to handle the influx of data during a download.”

Here’s the rewritten text, focusing on clarity and flow:

It’s important to manage your storage space effectively. As hard drives fill up, you'll have less room for new files and backups. Ideally, you should leave at least 15% of your drive empty – 20-30% is even better – to account for future needs and ensure smooth operation. When your drive gets close to full capacity, it’s a signal that you need to manage your files or consider upgrading to a larger drive.

Are you using any sort of down loader programs? (not Seam or other game launchers)
What is the CPU when you are downloading?
What speed are you downloading?
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your LAN.
