My PC seems to have lost its connection?
I've been using my pc for about 4 to 5 months without any issues. Recently, during a voice call with a friend, he couldn't hear me, so I checked the sound settings and noticed my mic was constantly playing noise. After adjusting it, the buzzing stopped when I touched my case. Looking into it, it seems my pc is ungrounded, though it had been grounded before everything worked properly.
You can quickly confirm if the case is properly grounded using a multimeter.
If your dad is an electrician, he understands.
I believe that if the buzzing ceases when you touch your case—without touching anything else, such as the microphone—then it’s likely the case is grounded.
I checked how the system remains ungrounded. It’s more likely the mic connector or wire is faulty, or it was simply loose in the jack. If you connected it to a grounded outlet, the issue should resolve. It’s improbable that the entire house ground failed; typically, a thick steel rod would be embedded somewhere. It might help examining the breaker box to confirm the connection path, as a connector could have corroded.
So like, when i touch my pc and that way ground it the mic works fine, the electricity somewhere is making my mic buzz and it might be the PSU. I got a new PSU cable and an extension cord and the buzzing is still here and my mic cable is fine I just checked it
I would like to know if i need a new PSU or is there a way to ground it. I searched for hours everyday and I couldn't find anyone with a similar problem.
Thank You so much for responding!
Edit: I tried using different outlets and the problem is still there so its a problem with the PC. Also I should ask my dad to check this because he's been an electrician for 25 years now and I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place.

Hello, I'm facing the same issue again and have already tried various solutions. I purchased an audio to USB sound card and changed my headset, but the microphone buzz continues. Could you have fixed it? I've been working on this problem for years without success.
