My PC keeps crashing when I update Windows 11.
Hello! My computer keeps crashing with BSOD after some Windows updates. The last time this happened, I took it to a tech guy who did a hard reset and things seemed okay for now. About 1.5 years later, the crashes are back. I tried restoring my system before the update, but it kept trying to change things by itself. I also removed the updates, but the problem stayed the same. I tried a soft factory reset, and maybe that helped a bit, but after a few more crashes, the issue was just as bad as when I did the hard wipe to clear everything off my drive. Wtf is wrong?! I have a Lenovo Legion Tower 5i with no mods on it, running Windows 11, and I didn't even overclock anything!
Welcome to the forums! First check if your system needs any BIOS updates. Then download all necessary drivers for your prebuilt machine using the serial number on Lenovo's support page. Put those drivers on a pen drive. You might want to reinstall the operating system after making a bootable USB installer for Windows 11 with the Media Creation Tool, and start fresh by installing it again from scratch.
Make sure you've updated your BIOS. Next, download and update any pending drivers using Iobit Driver Booster from their official website. If problems keep happening, check if your computer's files are broken instead. Use the System File Checker tool in Windows to see what's wrong with your files. Learn how to run it at support.microsoft.com. If you still have issues after trying that step, you need to install the right drivers for your system from Lenovo's website based on your first reply. Create a bootable USB drive using the Media Creation Tool or Rufus. Put those drivers onto the bootable drive and then start installing Windows from it. Hope this helps! Thanks!
It didn't work, but luckily, Lenovo gave me a fix for BSOD crashes on my computer: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/...Patch&id=D075E946-FD8E-45D8-8647-884103A1CE6B This seemed to have stopped the crashing. It's been weeks and I haven't had a single crash since!
