I really can't figure out why this started happening, but my PC is acting weird lately. Sometimes nothing shows up at all, no BIOS messages or anything, even after swapping the HDMI cable from the GPU back to the motherboard. After a few hard restarts, the screens start showing content again. But when I use it, about 10 minutes in, it goes blank and stays that way if I put my computer to sleep while it's idle—I can't wake it up ever after that. One thing that changed was the fan suddenly made a lot of noise; I'm not sure how to check that. Thanks so much!

Look at the Reliability History and Event Viewer to see if they show any errors or warnings right when these issues started. Lots of different mistakes happening means your power supply might be getting weak or breaking down. The Antec PSU is probably near its end of life because it's old. Here are some steps: Turn off the machine, unplug it from the wall, and take the case apart. Take out all dust and dirt. Check everything just by looking and touching to make sure every wire, card, RAM stick, jumper, and connection spot is tight. Look for any signs of damage like burning or broken wires. If the problems keep coming back then buy a new 500-watt power supply from another brand.

Welcome to the forums, new guy! When you post about fixing a problem, please list all of your hardware details like this: CPU: CPU cooler: Motherboard: RAM: Hard Drive: GPU: Power Supply: Case: Operating System: Monitor: Also, tell us how old the power supply is besides its brand and model. And write down your motherboard's BIOS version right now!

Thanks a lot! I'm posting now. My CPU is an Intel Core i7-9700K. It comes with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED cooler. The motherboard is an MSI B360M Bazooka that uses LGA socket for the 8th Gen processor. I can't check my BIOS version yet because my monitors aren't turning on right now. I'll try to update this when it works again. My RAM is 32GB of DDR4 running at 2666MHz. For storage, I have a Samsung evo 1TB NVMe drive and another 750GB drive that looks like it has the same Windows formatting as my main one (even though I'm using NixOS on one and Fedora on the other). My GPU is an RX 5700 XT with 8GB of GDDR6 graphics. For power, I use an Antec VP500 with a 80+ high performance rating; it's been around for five years. The case is an Evetech trio that has tempered glass and RGB lighting. My OS is running on NixOS via an NVMe drive while Fedora runs on the SSD. Besides my main monitor (Iilama) and Dell, I have others too.
