My PC is shaking a lot and my light bulbs are flashing in my room, can you tell me what's wrong?
I built a new computer a few weeks ago and it runs great except for one problem: the frame rate jumps around a lot, skipping every few seconds while my lights in the room flicker at the same time. I also don't know why this happens every single time. I tried resetting the PC to factory settings but that didn't help either. I've turned off all graphics overlays, cleaned out the hard drives, adjusted the GPU's overclocking settings, and nothing has worked yet. What could be causing this? Thanks for listening!
Sounds like a power problem. Call a handyman, switch to another outlet, or move rooms out.
Would the power just run out before it gets here? Would adding a battery backup help with those light flickers everywhere upstairs? It looks like turning off switches on different outlets is causing all the lights to dim or flicker.
You have already been informed about this problem. It is because of bad wiring inside the home. A professional with a license needs to come out and check it, then they can either repair it or at least let you know where things are wrong. You cannot fix this yourself without that expert help.
Do you think buying a power backup unit would solve the problem? My buddy is an electrician so I might let him check it out, but are we sure a UPS device would make things better?
I want to add a video, but right now every ten seconds in the game something happens. The lights in my bedroom flicker together and it shows up on the FPS number at the bottom left. I don't know what's causing this. I tried plugging into other outlets but nothing helped. Maybe it is just the computer?
Please don't use multiple threads at once or your brain will get tangled up like spaghetti. I've combined your old thread into this one now. I'm not sure what could be making everything act wrong here. I tried turning on other outlets and nothing worked either. Not sure why it's happening right now. Everyone else said it isn't your computer that is broken; it's the power coming from the wall. If every outlet in your house works the same way, check the main breaker box upstairs. If they don't work alike, look outside the main box and trace down the wires to find where the problem starts. Call a licensed electrician and get them to check all the wiring and grounding systems in your home so nothing is unsafe.
Sorry, I don't know how to use that site well. I wasn't sure where to look for my old post. I think one of these things is wrong with the electricity in our home either because of the board or the power supply unit. Honestly, this just drives me crazy trying to figure it out.
