Yeah, but I think it's time to crank up the FPS because my GPU is using 80% to 85%, even though my CPU only uses a little over 99%.

The CPU decides how fast things go. If your graphics card (GPU) tries to keep up with the speed of the CPU, or if it's slower than that, well, nothing happens. The GPU can't be faster than the CPU anyway, and its job isn't even ready until after the CPU is done working on something. Also, when you use a lot of your computer for games, all those extra parts are basically useless because most games only need one piece of hardware to work really well.

Do you mind if I show a video? It displays all of my CPU cores, but they aren't reaching 100% usage at all times. Could you tell me from this footage why that is happening?

If you mean this clip... There's really nothing to be concerned about with the usage shown OR the smoothness of the gameplay. You really want to monitor your GPU usage to determine a bottleneck more than CPU usage. When GPU usage is low, it usually means it's waiting for the CPU to send it data. You're clearly worried about nothing here given the example you've shown.

You don't need a single powerful core to be considered the CPU limit. It is very common for people to think a low GPU makes things slow or broken, but it often means the GPU isn't getting enough work because something else (like the CPU) is holding it back. Can you keep sending data when there isn't enough?

Spiderman wants a fast CPU, even if you have a GPU. It's way too old for your computer right now. You need to buy a brand new system. https://www.techspot.com/article/2520-sp...80p-Medium https://www.techspot.com/article/2518-sp...80p-medium

I know that both my graphics card and my processor are really old by today's standards. But the real question is: Is it normal to see 80% on my graphics card while only 60% of my CPU is working when I play a game? I also get this same problem with Batman Arkham Knight. However, when I play Red Dead Redemption 2, my graphics card usage stays high at around 95% or 100%.

Look at it differently. Each of those cores is its own thing. Pay attention to all of them, not just one or two.

The issue isn't just the game; it's the engine inside it. This old processor was from about eight years ago and lacks the power of modern chips. Usually, if you had a card in the 60 or 70 range, it could only do what your CPU gave it. I remember when Watch Dogs launched people were buying i7s to upgrade everything, but they just waited until the game dropped. A single core i7 gave six more frames per second than an older i3 4130. You can't build a PC that hits every limit possible; something will always slow things down depending on what you have and which game you're playing. It could be the game, the processor, or the graphics card—things change based on your gear.

It suggests that the software or game engine is the issue, and this kind of glitch is quite common when new games come out.
