Hello, I’m looking to find a solution to the persistent FPS lag and stutters I’ve experienced in games like Valorant. The issue worsens when I play bunny hopping.
Here’s what I’ve been doing:
- Reinstalled Windows 10
- Applied Performance Plan with Ultimate Performance
- Turned off all Windows telemetry and background processes, removed bloatware
- Set process priority in Task Manager to High
- Updated the Nvidea graphics driver and AMD CPU chipset
- Used Process Lasso to prioritize games, tried specific cores and affinity settings without success
- Disabled Hardware Acceleration across all apps
- Adjusted Valorant settings to use the lowest graphics configuration possible
- Configured Nvidea control panel for optimal performance vs quality
- Enabled/disabled game mode and set it for maximum graphic performance
- Turned off all visual effects in Windows Performance Options
- Increased hard drive and SSD paging file size to 32GB
- Optimized Process Scheduling, msconfig boot settings (all cores, timeout 3)
- Modified registry keys: NetworkThrottlingIndex, SystemResponsiveness, GPU Priority, Priority, Scheduling Category
- Utilized CPUCoreParking to fully engage the CPU during program use
- Scanned drives for errors, performed optimisation and defragments
- Disabled fullscreen optimisations for Valorant, ran as administrator, adjusted High DPI scaling override
- Ran SFC /scannow in admin mode to check system health
I’m hoping this helps resolve the ongoing performance issues.
I configured the windows settings to handle the paging file size independently and executed the test. Here are the findings: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/57428314
if things get really bad, I probably would reset the whole PC. That's what I did anyway.
