This issue began when Overwatch was initially released. While playing, the game would frequently crash and exit unexpectedly, or display a blue screen accompanied by an audible noise and diverse error messages. Previously, I was utilizing a Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (GV-N660OC-2GD) graphics card with 2GB of VRAM.
I’ve since upgraded my graphics card, but the problem persists (though I no longer play Overwatch – I suspected it might have been a game-specific issue). Now, when attempting to play games such as Apex Legends (where I experience the most difficulties) and The Division 2 (recognizing my PC’s hardware may not fully meet the game’s requirements), The Division 2 typically fails after approximately ten minutes, while Apex Legends exhibits more unpredictable behavior—sometimes I can play several games without incident, other times a blue screen occurs immediately upon launching the game.
I have attempted numerous troubleshooting steps, including running memory diagnostics, disk checks, updating drivers on all recognized components, and reinstalling Windows. I also removed Avast antivirus software.
I’ve eliminated all known third-party applications (which was achieved through a Windows reset). Currently, I utilize only Malwarebytes for security – previously using Avast.
The blue screen errors consistently display the following stop codes:
Stop Code : IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
The “what failed” information sometimes appears alongside these errors, and occasionally it doesn’t.
I have recorded the following error codes:
These issues primarily occur when playing graphically demanding games.
Games such as League of Legends and World of Warcraft run without any problems. It seems like only first-person shooter games cause this issue.
My CPU and GPU temperatures are currently stable, with the CPU maintaining a temperature between 45-50°C.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions to resolve this problem and return to enjoying gaming.
While I’m not aware of any specific solutions for these problems, I recommend experimenting with reduced graphics settings or lower resolutions to determine if the issues improve. This may be especially effective during periods of intense gameplay.
Thank you for your response. I've experimented with reduced image settings and resolutions, and the game doesn’t always fail completely during intense moments of gameplay. The crashes appear to be unpredictable; I might experience them while engaged in combat or simply idling, but they rarely occur during loading sequences, should that be relevant.
