Hello good people,
I've faced this GPU issue for some time on my Dell Precision 7720 Laptop. After downloading a version from the Nvidia website, I installed it and it appears in the device manager with a yellow mark. When I search for "Nvidia control panel," I can see it, but clicking it doesn't launch anything. If I right-click on the desktop, only the Nvidia RTX Desktop Manager shows up, not the actual Nvidia control panel. In Task Manager, I can only see GPU 0, which is the built-in Intel HD 630, not the Nvidia one.

I've attempted a fresh Windows 10 installation and updated the system, but both Intel and Nvidia graphics still don't work. I even tried downloading directly from Dell's site, extracting it, and installing it manually via Device Manager, but it still doesn't appear in the performance tab. My BIOS allows switching between graphics cards, so my PC seems to run on the basic Intel HD.

I'm looking for any solutions that could help make the GPU work. Would it be possible to extract the downloaded Nvidia files from the Nvidia website? I'd like to get a folder with an .inf file and install it manually through Device Manager by searching the hard disk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe attempt to go through this discussion;
https://www.dell.com/community/en/c...ad...a8de23840f
What driver version are you using from Nvidia?
I've attempted a new Windows 10 setup.
Where did you obtain the installer for the operating system? It's recommended to install the OS in offline mode, then add all necessary drivers via an elevated command while offline. Navigate through Chipset>MEI>Audio>Nvidia GPU>Intel GPU>LAN>WiFi and connect to the internet before updating the OS.
It shows up in the device manager but with a yellow warning.
With error code 43? Run GPU-Z to check if it displays zero values. If yes for both, your discrete GPU might be faulty.

I have started using GPU-Z to review the performance of the Intel HD 630 and Quadro P3000. In the first image, the expected data appears for the Intel HD 630, but the memory size shows as N/A. On the second screenshot for the Quadro P3000, the GPU clock reads zeros, memory size is 0, default clock is 0, pixel file rate and memory type are marked as unknown. I suspect the GPU may not be working properly. I downloaded a GPU from the Nvidia website, an Intel HD from the Intel site, and installed a chipset from Dell, using Windows from Microsoft. Despite these changes, my experience with Dell Precisors has been poor, even with the Precision 7720 model I own, which is still considered old. I’m considering purchasing a new mobile workstation and am thinking about an HP Zbook 17 G9 with an Nvidia RTX A3000 instead of the Intel HD from Dell. Would you advise me to look into this option?
