Here are the PC specs: Ryzen 5 5600x, MSI B550 Gaming Plus with WiFi adapter, GTX 1070TI (still plays new games well on medium/high), 32GB RAM Corsair Vengeance HyperX, screen upgrade Corsair Link fans, 1TB NVMe WD 750W PSU, Corsair K70 keyboard, Corsair M65 ultra wireless mouse, Acer 1080p monitor 27 inches. I told him the GTX 1070TI isn't very good, but he said he plans on upgrading that anyway. He doesn't know which one to recommend because his power supply is only 750 watts and it's also older. He doesn't have much money, so he can get a 3060 for $400. That price is crazy. Graphics cards are really expensive right now, so I'm asking this question for him. Would it be a good trade to add a PS5 Pro or not? Also, if it's a good trade, what graphics card would you put in it? He'll only run 1080p unless he upgrades later.
The difference in performance isn't clear when you compare them side by side. Maybe they both do other things too. If that's true, getting a PC makes sense.
I don't know what that means. Should I swap or keep it? And if I switch, which GPU should I pick since the computer is already really fast (no need to upgrade)? He said he wants to trade later down the road because maybe one day he will stream and do some graphic design and needs a good PC so Steam has better games than the PS5.
He owns a PlayStation 5 but thinks about buying a computer instead. Is that okay because the new system is good at what it does and can run the games he likes playing.
He has a PS5 Pro and says he wants to swap it for another computer. I asked him why? He said because he needs to stream. Later, maybe he wants to do graphic design too. Also, he thinks he can buy games from Steam and play them on Steam. One game in particular is Sons of the Forest; that's the only one he showed me that might actually be worth it. The others are bad games and he already has offers coming in for those.
So, he probably needs a computer. But will it work for him? That's likely to happen.
It's actually a pretty good deal right now, leaving some room for better upgrades later. The GPU is the main upgrade spot here. For now, the best card you can get cheaply is the [td] Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16 gigabytes of memory. If you stick with that and add a new graphics processor like the 5700X3D later, it should work fine for 1080p gaming. You'd also need to think about an air cooler or a heatsink; these two things are enough for what the card needs right now.
If you want to stream while using that instead of the current one, but you still have tweaking to do because of how it works, my experience says you really need something like an AIO cooler and you have to adjust the voltage settings.
No, God. That 1070Ti chip isn't great anymore, and NVIDIA has been kicking it to the curb because we no longer get support for it. It's being phased out quickly, so there aren't many good cards left on the market that have this card in them if you haven't already decided to switch.
