Hello everyone!
I'm facing an issue where my CPU won't overclock. I have a MSI Z97 motherboard with an i5-4690k processor. The problem is that in BIOS everything is locked, and I can't make any changes to adjust the speed. The only adjustments I can do are related to the part labeled [ .. ] around it. It gives just a minor boost. (Photo 1)
When I hover over "CPU Ratio," it says: This item can only be changed if the processor supports this function. (Photo 2)
I contacted the shop where I bought it and they told me: "No, you tried to overclock it, so that's not our issue."
So... what should I do?

SaltySneaky :
DonkeyOatie : Confirmed
Th3-Hunter333 : It's fine, but you just clicked and could adjust it?
Hold on, I've got it.
Press your mouse where the cpu ratio appears and use your keyboard to enter 40 (or whatever frequency you need).
Click AUTO on cpu ratio and type it

It seems you're asking about changing the BIOS setting from Auto to something else like Override, Offset or Adaptive. The changes might affect screen options. At the top is [All Cores], which indicates other available configurations. Please let me know if you need further clarification.

You're facing issues with changing the BIOS setting to something like Override, Offset, or Adaptive. Some screen options might shift when you do that. At the top, [All Cores] shows what other choices are available. I'm sorry for any confusion—I'm not very familiar with this BIOS setup. The All Cores option only lets you switch between All Cores or Per Core. If you'd like, I can take more pictures for you; I have plenty of time.

We require an individual familiar with MSI BIOS. Something must be 'unlocked'.

I'm managing an MSI board from the x99 series. All I had to do in my BIOS was just click auto and adjust it to the number I needed ;/
Sorry, I'm not really able to assist here.

DonkeyOatie agrees
Th3-Hunter333 mentions it's better than nothing but questions if the left click can be changed.

Hold on, I've got it.
Use your mouse to select the cpu ratio area and press your keyboard to enter 40 (or whatever frequency you need).

Th3-Hunter333 shared the idea, SaltySneaky confirmed.
DonkeyOatie agreed, saying it's good but you might have missed something.
Hold on, I can help—click where it says cpu ratio and type 40 using your keyboard.
Then press AUTO on cpu ratio and confirm.
I'll give it a shot in just two seconds.

Th3-Hunter333 shared the idea, but DonkeyOatie confirmed it's good. You can adjust it by clicking where it says cpu ratio and using your keyboard to enter 40 or another value. Click AUTO on cpu ratio and type it. It’s surprising how much easier it is now!
