I already checked Device Manager and changed the Power Management settings for both devices so they can wake up the system from sleep, but nothing happened. I also turned off Hibernation. The CPU case light goes into a flashing mode when it sleeps, which tells me it's actually sleeping. This is very strange because it never happens before with my Windows 10 versions or any of my laptops. Maybe I need to change something in the BIOS? My motherboard is an MSI Z790 and it has an Intel i7 12th gen processor.

Do I need to change anything on my motherboard? It's an MSI board that has a 12th Gen Intel processor. Open up the BIOS, look for a setting called "Resume from USB," and make sure this option is turned on if you want your keyboard or mouse to work when you plug them in again.

You need an option in BIOS so that a USB gadget can power on your PC.

Have you checked every item in the HID parts and USB controller parts of the Device Manager? Lots of extra stuff is buried under there, not just your mouse and keyboard.

Thanks to everyone, I turned on the feature in my BIOS settings. Weird, because it was supposed to stay off by default!
