My laptop screen turned off and I don't know why?
Hi guys, I'm new here and really need some help. I was using my laptop normally (it's a Samsung np-sa31 with a Bremen - M motherboard), but after turning it off by pressing the power button and closing the lid while I was in a rush, when I turned it back on, the screen wouldn't turn on at all! It just stayed black.
I tried everything. I messed around with the BIOS, reconnected the LCD cable, moved the RAM sticks around, and tried running it with only one stick connected. I took out the CMOS battery and put it back, tried clearing static via the power button, and even bought a whole new screen! The problem is still there.
The laptop works perfectly fine when plugged in to an external monitor using a VGA cable. You can see everything on the screen if you shine a flashlight on it (it worked just as well with the original LCD and the brand-new one I bought).
I don't know what's wrong at all. I took the laptop apart fully, but there were no burnt fuses in the photo because I removed the heat sink for the picture. Maybe you guys can help me find something or tell me where to look? I'm just missing something obvious here.
Hey, could you point out exactly where the inverter board is sitting on my motherboard pictures? Thanks a lot!
