I used to play video games and suddenly my computer started lagging badly, dropping from about 200 frames per second down to just 50 or even lower. When I tried quitting the game and restarting it, nothing worked. Restarting my whole laptop didn't help either. Everything feels really slow now; opening apps takes much longer than usual and things look choppy on the screen. I changed my graphics driver and did a full reset of my computer while keeping all my personal files safe. None of those fixes worked. The computer is still very slow. Even when I try to launch the game again, it only shows 10 frames per second. When I checked Task Manager, both my CPU and GPU were only using about 30% power right now. But the graph in Task Manager shows 100% usage during a stress test. I have no idea what is going on at all, so help me please. Thanks for reading this, but I really need some advice or suggestions. My computer specs are: Laptop is a Lenovo Legion Y9000K, the operating system is Windows 11. The CPU is an Intel i10-10875H running at 2.30 GHz speed. The GPU is an NVIDIA RTX 2060 with 16GB of RAM.

Is the base of this laptop getting warm? That might mean the computer stopped working because it got too hot and turned off its own heat protection.

Thanks so much for getting back to me, I'm grateful that everyone here is helping me out. Normally when I play games, the fan spins super loud, kind of like a rock concert. But lately, even though I start playing, those fans aren't spinning at all. Plus, my laptop bottom isn't super hot to touch. I've had this laptop for about two years now, and it's the first time something like this has happened. If it is definitely a heat problem, can we fix it? Thanks so much! 🙏

If your fan died or got blocked, that could have damaged your CPU. You might need a brand new one. If you're not handy with laptop repairs, it's best to call in a pro to help you out.
