My laptop is not turning on. Do I have a dead battery?
My wife's Asus ZenBook UX431F used to work fine for a few years, but yesterday while she was plugged in and using it, suddenly it turned off by itself. She can't turn it back on no matter what. Even the charging light doesn't show up when I plug in the AC adapter. When I opened her laptop, removed the battery, and checked again, the light turns on. But even with the battery connected, she still won't start the machine. I could buy a new battery for $70, wait two weeks for it to arrive, and hope it fixes things. If that battery doesn't work, we can't return it because it's past warranty, so buying a brand new one is my only choice.
