My laptop is beeping and won't turn on?
Before I put in a new battery because the old one wouldn't let me start the computer, I took out the CMOS battery just to fix the issue.
The CMOS battery makes sure the clock chip stays on and working. It also saves your BIOS settings. If the battery runs out, those settings disappear.
