My laptop goes without Wi-Fi when I shut down.
Hey, every time I sleep or turn off my laptop, the internet stops working and won't come back until I manually restart everything. It's not just a slow drop; the computer completely forgets all networks when it goes to sleep. I figured out that if I go into Device Manager and uncheck (disable) my LAN card and then check it again, things work fine. My Wi-Fi card is named "MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card." This keeps happening a lot so I'm really annoyed by it. Any ideas on how to stop this from ruining me?
Only one network adapter is on at a time. Turn off screen savers, power saving modes, and sleep settings. Does this stop the problem? Turn off IPv6. Run this command in Command Prompt: ipconfig /all (without quotes). Paste the results here so I can see them. You don't need to type it all out again; just copy it over.
My computer has the name LAPTOP-2EFHPDU4. It uses two different networks connected by a Hybrid IP Routing feature. My local DNS works, but there are no specific search lists set up yet. I am using an Ethernet adapter that is currently disconnected, and another one called TAP-NordVPN which also shows as disconnected.
I have two wireless connections running:
1. A Realtek GbE controller connected via a network cable (7C-10-C9-26-63-11). This connection has DHCP turned on and autoconfiguration enabled, so my computer automatically finds an IP address from the server at 10.94.11.3.
2. A TAP-NordVPN virtual adapter that is also disconnected but still has DHCP activated with its own ID of 00-FF-E5-CD-34-7E (address starting with 00).
My main Wi-Fi card, MediaTek, is currently offline too. However, I am successfully getting a Link-local IPv6 address on the network that says fe80::1bf7:b1c9:8b5a:7c04%18 and my preferred IPv4 address is 10.94.151.249 with a subnet mask of 255.255.128.0.
My lease was granted on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 1:33 PM and will expire at 9:33 PM the same day. My default gateway is set to 10.94.128.1. There are two other servers helping me get connected: the DHCP server on 10.94.11.3, a DHCPv6 ID of 273213402 for my device's unique identity, and some DNS servers including Google's 8.8.8.8 and others like 208.67.220.220 and 4.2.2.2.
