My keyboard won't work anymore
hi i hope you all having a great day. so its been two days and i cant play any game because i have this weird problem, my movement stops working in every direction when it comes to moving with keyboard (all the keys). what i mean by stops working is, it pauses for one millisecond and gets back to working again. so i tried changing keyboard and to be honest the keyboard i tried was old too, but i had the same problem with that keyboard that i have with this one and i searched on internet and nobody has this problem so i came here. now my question is can this problem be because of my hard disk or anything like that and what is the percentage on that? and what you guys think? and what should i do to fix it? thanks for reading and your answer helps me a lot. 😉 Machine ASUS Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) Memory 8 GB Processor Intel® Core i3-10100 CPU @ 3.60GHz Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - PRIME B460M-A R2.0 Video Cards NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 Monitors L1755 Hard Disk WDC WD5000AURX-63UY4Y0 (500.0 GB)
A bit weird because this problem shows up with two keyboards. Maybe the models are different but not at all strange that both came from the same factory. The only real difference is just how the logo looks on them. I recommend trying the built-in Windows tricks. Those tools might find and fix a problem. If those don't work, try running "sfc /scannow" and "dism".
Here is the information in plain English:
* **Check your power supply:** Does it have the right number of watts? Is it old, new, or just used? How many do you have?
* **Check the hard drive:** It has 500 GB. But how much space is actually full? Maybe try the two keyboards in another working computer to see if they work too.
* **Look for problems in history and logs:** Check Reliability History, Event Viewer, or look at error codes, warnings, and events that happen when you move the keyboard around.
* **Power it off and clean it up:** Unplug everything, open the box. Remove dust and dirt. Make sure every card, wire connector, RAM stick, and jumper is all stuck firmly in its spot. Look closely to see if anything looks wrong with wires or parts.
* **Check for physical damage:** Are there broken conductors? Are any wires bent or pinched? Is the insulation melted? Do you see brown or black spots on components? Are any pieces swollen up? Did you forget to screw something down? If you don't know how to do this, ask a family member or friend.
* **Save your data:** Back up all your important files before starting. Make sure at least two copies are saved somewhere else. Also, make sure those backups can actually be read again if they ever get lost in the drive.
Do you have a monitor plugged in? Maybe start Task Manager while gaming to see what's happening. Here are a few key points: A GT740 card isn't good for games and should run on low settings at low resolutions. 8GB of RAM might work but isn't great for modern titles. Having two sticks gives better performance than one, so if you only have one stick the system won't be fully using it. If your game crashes when you're trying to open other apps because you don't have enough physical RAM, that could cause issues. And the last thing is the hard drive (HDD). That's a big problem for modern computers. If you run out of real memory during gaming and need to use your page file instead, it will be very slow and laggy. I'm not saying this covers every single issue, but these two points definitely aren't helping much.
well yes, my monitor shows performance okay and everything is good except for the hard drive. sometimes it hits 100%. my graphics card is an RTX 2060 with 2GB RAM and a D5 DDR5 memory, but that isn't the best one out there. i know this. i play low-spec games like CS:GO, Warface, GTA 5, etc., and actually everything was fine two days ago when i put this pc together. the whole thing is new except for the graphics card and the hard drive, which are the weak points. so do you think if i upgrade to an M.2 SSD and an RTX 2060, it would work well? And yes, that's because of the hard drive. By the way, like i said, the RAM isn't the problem. while gaming, i use up to 70% of it because i boosted Windows 10 to maximum settings.
psu;600 is new, the hdmi cable is old and maybe 70% free there are no warning lights or errors popping up when I turn things on. I checked everything inside the computer, including cables and parts, and they all look fine. The two keyboards seem to disconnect at different times. Maybe one is slower than the other? So I think it might be the keyboard. But if it wasn't a part issue, shouldn't they disconnect at the same time? Anyway, i bought a keyboard and it feels weak. Thanks for replying dude. What do you suggest I do next?
A bit confusing because the problem shows up with two keyboards. Maybe they are different models but that is totally normal since both could be from the same brand. The only real difference might just be the logos on them. I recommend trying the built-in Windows troubleshooters first. These tools might find and fix something. If those don't work, try running "sfc /scannow" and "dism". Here are links to help: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-...es-2626161 https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-d...s-10-image
Corrupted file. FYI: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...em...6e85d4094e You can easily find other similar links and explanations. As for how any given file became/becomes corrupted - that is more difficult to determine. Unexpected power outages could be one reason. Some conflict with other software could be another reason. Buggy update perhaps. Gremlins.
