My internet connection is normal, yet I frequently encounter strong pings to gaming servers. Assistance needed?
Until last week my connection to game servers was stable. My usual top servers were in Chicago (since I live in Missouri), but lately California and Oregon have been better with at least 75ms. Chicago is now around 120-140. My ISP hasn’t changed. I’ve tried troubleshooting a lot and even replaced the cable, but nothing works. I’m feeling really frustrated and don’t know what else to try. They say my speed is good, but I think it’s just a routing problem. Can I fix this myself?
Is the router's firmware current? Did you turn it off and on again?
Have you played any other online games recently?
Verify that your firewall is configured properly for private access.
Are there any antivirus programs installed?
Run a ping test to assess speed again.
