I have a problem with my HP 250 G7 laptop where it freezes randomly when plugged into the battery and also freezes every time I run a game, even sometimes while unplugged. At first, everything worked well but two months ago things started going wrong. I thought the RAM or my hard drive might be causing this. So I swapped out both of those parts; I added 8GB more DDR4 RAM and bought an SSD. But the problem is still happening. I thought maybe the battery was just starting to fail, but sadly it is a built-in battery so I can't test the laptop without one left in my bag. I tried many different fixes for this issue but none of them worked. If anyone else has had this exact same problem or knows how to fix it, please share your thoughts and ideas. Thank you very much.

Welcome to our forums! Even though I think your laptop has a really good discrete graphics card listed here; HP 250 G7 Notebook PC Specifications | HP® Customer Support Specifications page for the HP 250 G7 Notebook PC, support.hp.com, your current machine is probably not built for gaming. i bought another 8GB DDR4 RAM Did you add a stick of ram that's just like the one in your laptop? If no, can you send pictures of both sticks with the sticker showing up? You might also want to check if there are any BIOS updates pending while integrated batteries can be disconnected; you only need to take apart the laptop to get access to the connector and unplug it from the motherboard.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me! By "games," I don't mean heavy ones. It's just League of Legends or CS:GO or whatever low-end games are available and I run them on very low settings. Used to play them fine until this sudden issue started. Before, even a crappier laptop that had been my daily driver for about 3 years never had this problem. As for the RAMs, I meant two separate 4GB DDR4 sticks. They're identical, sorry for any confusion there, and I don't know how to update the BIOS yet because using it every day makes me scared if something goes wrong so I'm not sure. The battery is also a thing: when it's not charged at all and I plug it in sometimes, it lights up white instead of orange which means it's charging right? Does that mean your point about it being disconnected was off?
