You just set up your new RTX 3060 Ti, reinstalled the drivers, and noticed performance drops in games when you enable VSync. The current build is RXTX 3060 Ti Gigabyte Gaming OC Rev 3.0 with a Ryzen 5 3600 at 3600 MHz and 16GB RAM.

It's probably a misinterpretation. Even if accurate, the difference would stay around 3% at most.

The gap between 138 and 144 appears negligible, probably due to reporting or sampling inaccuracies.

Adjust your method to reduce the sampling mistake.

I checked online and found that g sync and vsync might overlap, causing frame rates to drop below the desired level.

You simply overlook it since a 3% difference isn't a major issue and fits within the acceptable range

Your display supports Gsync? Could Nvidia Reflex be an option? https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=7522

You noticed a change in performance depending on the settings. When high settings are active and VSync is enabled, you see around 120-30 FPS, but turning VSync off increases your frame rate to about 15-20 more frames.

I don't have a GSync monitor, but I believe Freesync is compatible with GSync now.

Some screens can handle higher refresh rates, but a good rule is to keep FPS around the monitor's maximum. For a 144 Hz display, aim for about 141 FPS. People have mentioned you likely won't feel the difference between 138 and 144 or 141. You can disable V-sync and tolerate tearing if you go over 144, or accept losing six frames.
