My game is experiencing stuttering issues after updating to a new monitor.
Hello.
I recently acquired a new MSI G24C 144Hz monitor and, since installation, Overwatch has exhibited significant stuttering despite maintaining high frame rates. My system consists of an Intel i5-7400 @ 3.00 GHz, 16GB RAM, an Nvidia 1070, and an Aurora R6 with integrated graphics. I have disabled all monitor settings and experienced improved performance using HDMI over DisplayPort. Post-game CPU temperatures average 43°C, while GPU temperatures reach approximately 80°C. I have ensured that all drivers are current.
I initially configured it at 144 Hz upon receiving the monitor.
This monitor is G-Sync compatible? If not, that may be the problem, though I am not an expert. You can enable G-Sync support in the Nvidia control panel.
The monitor’s HDMI output supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. For a 144Hz connection, utilize the DisplayPort port.
FreeSync is reportedly compatible, but some reports suggest it can cause choppiness due to a lack of Nvidia compatibility updates.
You might require a frame limiter. It's possible to achieve over 200 frames per second in Overwatch at 1080p with a GTX 1070, though your CPU may limit it. Generally, you shouldn't exceed your monitor’s refresh rate when using G-Sync. The following resource could assist with optimizing your settings: https://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync1...ettings/14
