I’d apply arch across everything if I had to, but I don’t manage to dedicate the effort, so it tends to be whatever’s available in the *buntu tree based on the window manager I prefer.*

- Regarding your query: currently, Arch Linux is my preferred choice. I use it regularly for daily tasks and as the operating system on servers. Previously, I favored Debian, but I've lost interest after using it in a professional setting. The distribution packaging isn't very appealing.

I reversed the process. Started with Arch at university, then moved to Debian after beginning work.

Hi, I checked before posting but most of the earlier posts were from a few months ago. I was just curious about what people liked at the start of 2017. I prefer Arch, it looks nice, I haven’t used it much, and I’ve spent more time on Ubuntu. I’m new to OpenSUSE but don’t mind it—only time will tell.

At the workplace, the operating system changes based on the task at hand—either Debian or RHEL. I’ve experienced some packaging and versioning issues with Debian.

I particularly enjoy Fedora because of its default package manager and the fact it has significantly less bloat compared to Ubuntu.

I understand why you don’t have time for extra work. Debian’s setup process is quite challenging. *Buntu-based distributions usually offer a more intuitive experience. The choice of distribution mainly affects the appearance, which can be switched whenever needed. I’ve installed Mint but it feels similar to Ubuntu’s Unity theme.*
