hi, I just got a corsair h115i pro rgb cooler and am trying to put it on my 8700k. how much can i boost the cpu with this 280mm cooler? do not want to crank up voltage too high or risk crazy heat, but i still need at least 4.8ghz out of it. specs for my build: asus maximus x hero (latest bios), 16gb corsair 3000mhz ram, corsair h115i pro rgb AIO x570 motherboard, a corsair case with stock fans, and three airflow intake/exhaust options including the aio fan. since these are new to overclocking, what settings should i use to get at least 4.8 on all cores?
All CPUs are different, so you need to adjust them slowly and test for stability every time you try to boost the clock speed. This guide covers the basics of overclocking if you're just starting out. If you found this page, maybe you're looking for help with basic overclocking or perhaps you've been around it a long time and want fresh insights that might surprise you.
