My controller isn't working properly.
I purchased the most affordable controller I could locate—it’s a knock-off DualShock 3. My goal was to enjoy my game, however, I observed that several buttons were reversed; pressing the “X” button activates the “C” button, and conversely. I attempted to correct this issue, but I'm unsure of how.
I had hoped scptoolkit would be effective, but it fails to identify the controller. Furthermore, I haven’t been able to locate a method for remapping the buttons, and to compound matters, this controller lacks any accompanying manual or manufacturer information… Is there anything that can be done?
Strange… a shame. Certain titles like FIFA, How to Survive, Viscera Cleanup Detail, GTA IV, and others experience this problem when played with incompatible controllers. I recommend purchasing an Xbox controller for games that fail to recognize your controller mapping accurately. You could also obtain a vintage, wired Xbox 360 controller – even imitation versions function effectively; they typically cost approximately $14.
To modify the application's controls, simply tap the Controller button and select a new function for it. The software won’t operate correctly if your controller isn't recognized; an error message will appear when you attempt to launch the program. If this occurs, try switching between 64-bit or 32-bit versions, and ensure you run the application with administrator privileges.
The application recognizes it, yet it’s disregarding my button configurations. Despite my efforts, it consistently uses its own mapping, overriding the software-defined settings. I also tested the 32-bit version without success.
On a game controller, this device is labeled ‘2In1 usb joystick’.
Edit: I achieved functionality for certain buttons, but the cross and circle buttons remain switched incorrectly. The reason for this behavior is unknown.
