I just assembled a gaming computer, and here are its specifications.

My components include: a Ryzen 5 2600 processor, an AMD Radeon ASUS Strix RX 580 graphics card, an A320M-S2H motherboard, a Corsair VS550 power supply, 16 GB of DDR4 Vengeance RAM, and an Aerocool Cyclon Mini case.

The graphics card and RAM were purchased secondhand. I’m experiencing frame rates of 50-60 frames per second on high settings while playing Assassin’s Creed Unity, with occasional stutters in densely populated areas. Conversely, users with the RX 580 can achieve 70+ frames per second on ultra settings without any noticeable stuttering. I’ve installed the latest drivers and disabled automatic Windows updates.

Do you have any suggestions for resolving this issue?

You possess a V-Series power supply, which unfortunately have a reputation for poor performance. Your 580 is an energy-intensive system, and I doubt a low-wattage power supply would adequately support it. That appears to be the core issue, in my opinion. Furthermore, how are your temperatures trending? Specifically for your CPU and GPU?

I’ll look into them when possible, and how can one determine if the electrical supply is adequate?

Likely a voltage and amperage estimator. It has consistently been helpful to me.

A power supply rating of approximately 550 watts should suffice, though 500 watts is the absolute lowest acceptable amount. I would recommend a solid 650-watt unit for added security. Seasonic products are generally known for their reliability.

After verifying my energy requirements, the assessment indicated that this amount was adequate.

Power input: 371 watts
Suggested uninterruptible power supply rating: 800 VA
Recommended power supply unit wattage: 421 watts
These were the results

As Mandark suggested, opting for a 550W or 650W unit would be prudent for longevity. Seasonic and EVGA both produce excellent power supplies.

Is it really due to my power supply unit? Because 550 watts should be sufficient. And replacing a power supply is costly.
