Hello to all,
I apologize for any errors, as this is my initial post here.
I’m experiencing an unusual problem with my desktop PC and I hope someone can assist.
Whenever I unplug it or when the power is cut off, it’s difficult to get it back online. The power button doesn’t work, and the motherboard buttons—power, reset, and jumper—also fail to function.
At the same time, all connected peripherals receive power, but the motherboard becomes warm in a few areas near the buttons.
Occasionally, if I press the buttons randomly, the PC powers up and operates normally.
Do anyone have any suggestions or details that could help?
Thank you very much for your time.

What is the age of the PSU? If it's reaching the end of its life, it might be time to consider a replacement. If you have a better PSU available, test it in your PC.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Cooling: Corsair hydro H100
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GV-N760OC-4GD
Memory: Asrock Z97 Extreme
Power Supply: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold certified
RAM: 2* Corsair Dominator Platinum 16 Dual (2x8 sticks) sets (PC only recognizes 16GB RAM after upgrade)
System: Win10Pro version. 22H2 (64bit)
Hardware: 1 mechanical Drive and one SSD
I recently restarted the system unexpectedly, despite expecting it to fail. I attempted several configurations: without GPU, RAM, hard drives, just GPU, just RAM, just drives, or with both GPU and RAM. None worked. The system booted again abruptly while I was trying to connect the hard drives, which was quite frustrating.
I believe the system was built around 2012-2014.
Questions:
1 - how can I verify the problem when power is completely cut off (power outage or unplugging the cord)?
2 - why does the RAM stick not work? I expected 32MB, not just 16MB.
Thank you for your time and advice.

I'm preparing to visit a friend's place to troubleshoot his old AMD Phenom II X4 965, which is facing a comparable issue. I'll share my findings once I've replaced all components, if anything proves helpful.
