My computer won't power on after I performed an overclock. Clearing the CMOS didn't help!!
I attempted to overclock my R5 1400 from 3.6 to 3.8. I also upgraded my RAM to 2400mhz and tried to increase it to 3200mhz, which offered an option. I used a B350M gaming pro motherboard. Clearing the CMOS didn’t help, please assist!
You could have burned something, if the CMOS clear didn't function.
It's unclear what it is doing. You mentioned it won't turn on, but do you mean the power indicator stays off or it doesn't display at all? Sometimes CMOS can be difficult to reset, so if it isn't booting into BIOS instead of shutting down completely, unplug it and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes. Unless you adjusted the voltage settings excessively or performed a high-load calibration, which the B350 boards don't offer much for fine-tuning, it's unlikely you'd cause significant damage.
@jpe1701 my Motherboard is not detecting my CPU or DRAM the led lights on my MB turn on and the fans of my cpu heat sink turn on. There’s bios Screen and I took the battery out for over 12 hours. I tried it again and it did not work. I can RMA my MB to MSI bc they accepted the request. Idk what I should do bc I don’t know what the problem is.
It's likely that one of the original contributors stopped functioning properly and disabled the system. We're hoping they'll consider returning it through an RMA.
