I had overclocked my i3 8350k (following this guide) but faced issues with the PC restarting. I reset the BIOS and also removed the CMOS battery. Temperatures were normal. Now, even without gaming, the PC occasionally restarts. I also disabled the Windows restart option on system failure. I’m unsure what to do and am concerned about potential damage. Please help me troubleshoot this problem. My PC is only one month old.

The issue with your PC restarting is due to an unstable CPU OC. It’s important to verify stability before proceeding. What steps are you taking to test this? Adjusting the OC isn’t sufficient just by changing a setting and hoping for success—it takes time and patience. Share your complete specifications and details about your OC efforts. During the process, use monitoring tools like HWMon/Info to track changes in real time. Also, employ stability testing software such as Prime95, OCCT, or Aida64 to stress-test your system and confirm its reliability. Keep an eye on CPU temperatures throughout.

Usually when I reset the BIOS, the CPU returns to factory defaults. However, it keeps restarting randomly. Also, Speccy is displaying an incorrect CPU information. This is for the i3 8350k.

CPU/Motherboard/RAM/PSU etc. The CPU-z screen doesn't display much information, so I couldn't search further.

Sure, download and execute HWMon, capture a screenshot at idle, then attempt to run a task and take another screenshot for posting. Also, ensure you have the latest BIOS for the Z370, system drivers, and GPU drivers installed.
