I fixed my computer with Windows again, but things got worse instead of better. I'm pretty sure it's a bad motherboard. After adding a new hard drive, the problem grew twenty times bigger. It could be memory (RAM), though I'm really thinking it might be the board.

Sometimes you are forced to turn off your power supply, but that can mess up your files. Just run a couple of commands like "dism" and "sfc /scannow". One or both might find what's wrong and fix it. Also try booting into safe mode to see if things get better.

I don't force my PSU off to shut down; I just hold the power button until it turns off. When the system won't turn on or stop opening new windows, that's when I cut the power. When things act weird like this, turning the PSU off helps figure out if the problem is with the power supply instead of the computer itself. I moved my old NVMe drive back in to a different slot and it has been running fine for about three hours now, which means either other NVMe drives are acting strange or that specific slot is defective. I've never had an NVMe drive go bad before, so I don't know what looks wrong but the new one came from a computer I owned years ago that used to work just right. The old drive usually only needed this fix once every month during gaming sessions.

If you start using the computer by putting an Ubuntu USB drive into it, what happens to the system settings or apps on your laptop?

My problems finally came out, my computer blue screened which isn't normal but showed a CPU error. I changed my BIOS settings back to default and the problem started again. When I logged into Windows, the PC froze up. After restarting, it gave me an error code C5. That means something is wrong with my RAM, because clearing CMOS didn't fix it and taking out one of my memory sticks still made no difference. I'm pretty sure this was a RAM issue all along even though my RAM isn't dead (C5 usually doesn't mean RAM is broken) but it's definitely not working anymore on my board.

My WiFi chip might be broken, so I tried the same thing with my B450 board. The Bluetooth also stopped working on that Aloy model. I turned off the internal chip and now just use a wire to connect instead.

The internet stopped working first, and then it went everywhere else in my house. Before this, I didn't even use wireless connections like Wi-Fi.

One of the weirdest PC builds I've ever put together is the one I got from Black Friday last year. It's sitting here waiting to be used, but honestly, I might not buy another computer like this in my life. AsRock and Corsair just don't work for me anymore; they're too annoying. My frustration with them has gotten out of hand, even though I never had a problem with Asus before.
