My PC specifications
450 watt power supply
athlon x4 860k base clock
8gb ram with g skill base clock at 1600 ghz
amd r9 270 msi 2gb OC edition
had an amd hd 6450 in earlier builds and it didn’t reboot randomly until i installed the r9 270
powering from two molex to 6pin connectors, it only restarts when playing a game – experienced this in borderlands 2 and black ops 3. any other games worked fine except black ops 2 (which felt odd at max settings).
any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m on a budget and my parts list shows around 339 watts usage, while you have 450watts. HELP!

Increased the power consumption by 120 Watts, but the current supply isn't sufficient. Switch to a higher wattage power source and consider a more reliable one.

It seems like a PSU problem might be the issue. Could you tell me what PSU model you're using? Your new card draws roughly three times the power that the 6450 consumes. Also, don't rely on the rated wattage for cheaper PSUs, as they often overstate their capabilities. We still need to identify the exact model.

Jonathan shares his computer specifications and experiences with the PSU. He mentions using an AMD HD 6450, AMD R9 270, and notes power consumption details. He seeks advice on selecting a suitable PSU, especially since his current parts consume around 339 watts while he has a 450-watt PSU available.

It's a 450 watt BLK power supply from Apevia. Your CPU temperature of 66 degrees Celsius in BIOS seems high.

For temperatures, I would use AMD overdrive software and Thermal Margin. These APUs display incorrect readings in other programs. I'd compare them to your BIOS data as I worked on an APU-based system recently that showed high BIOS readings too. Concerning your PSU, it's a very low-quality unit (Tier 5 from this site). It's very likely this is the cause of your reboots.
