My computer experiences delays despite having adequate processing power.
My computer’s performance has become noticeably sluggish recently. Occasionally, a click will be delayed before registering, such as when I attempt to select something with the mouse. Here’s a visual representation of my system’s behavior during these instances:
What other troubleshooting steps can I take to resolve this issue?
When your hard drives enter sleep mode, they can reduce their rotation speed when no data access is needed. However, if you subsequently require the disks’ operation—even from an unused drive—a delay occurs while each one re-energizes. Consider adjusting your hard disk sleep configurations to disable the feature (0) within the system’s advanced settings. On a desktop computer, there is typically no substantial benefit to enabling hard drive sleep when the system is not in sleep mode. Similarly, on a laptop, any potential energy savings are minimal.
Thank you, I am experimenting with this functionality at the moment; so far it appears to be functioning without issues.
