My Bluetooth setup is all mixed up. Can you assist?
Laptop: X450CC I used the troubleshooter under Devices and Printers and chose an option about a driver issue with the Bluetooth server. I wasn’t sure what was happening. Then I opened Device Manager, filtered hidden devices, and saw the problem. I tried uninstalling the problematic software in the hope it would reinstall after restarting, but it didn’t work. Now I can’t connect to any Bluetooth devices. The reason I ran the troubleshooter was because of an issue with my Bluetooth earphone, which I couldn’t recall in detail due to sleep deprivation. I should note the device I'm working with—a laptop—specifically an Asus X450CC. It was built yesterday, but I accidentally damaged the power button, causing the machine to shut down immediately because it lacks a battery. Afterward, the Bluetooth function became unstable.
I attempted to reinstall the Bluetooth driver from the provided website: https://www.asus.com/sg/supportonly/x450..._Download/. It appears no Windows 10 driver is available, so I tried the Windows 8.1 version instead. If this didn’t resolve the issue, it’s possible your hardware is damaged and won’t work anymore. In that scenario, consider purchasing a budget Bluetooth USB dongle, though you’ll need to remove a USB port to connect it.
I installed my driver from that site and chose the 8.1 64-bit version without a Windows 10 version. I’m hoping it will work smoothly and nothing will break. Regarding the reinstall, I’m not sure which device in Device Manager to remove first before installing again from the website—should I delete the Bluetooth Module or the Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)?
It seems like your message got cut off. Could you please clarify or provide the full question so I can assist you better?
