My Bluetooth dongle won't work any more
I bought a tp-link bluetooth 4.0 dongle about six months ago, and everything worked fine until yesterday. I noticed that Windows didn't see the dongle when I plugged it in. When I went to "Bluetooth & other devices" under the "other devices" tab, it said the dongle was found but did not let me turn Bluetooth on or off. Is there a way to fix this? Or is it something wrong with my PC?
Can you spot any yellow warning signs in Device Manager? If something shows up in the "other devices" tab, it might just mean it was once connected as a Bluetooth device. Even if the adapter is no longer working, that item will stay listed on your computer for some reason.
Have you tried taking out that extra gadget and letting Windows try again with new drivers? Check Control Panel, go to Device Manager, and look at Bluetooth. Do you see your TP-Link dongle there?
Do you see any yellow warning signs showing up in Device Manager? If something shows up under "other devices," it doesn't mean it's actually working right now; it just means it was added before. It will still show up even if the dongle is broken or not being detected, for whatever reason.
