So here's the thing. I bought an ASUS XG27VQ ROG monitor.
I have GTX 1070 Gigabyte and Win 10. I'm using a DisplayPort cable. I changed the HZ settings of the monitor (advanced display settings > display adapter properties etc..) and I changed the settings in the Nvidia control panel to 1920 x 1080

HZ and I'm still stuck at 60HZ while gaming. In desktop mode, the refresh rate is 144, but when I go in a game it's capped at 60. I tried a couple of games but none of them have a Vsync option to turn off. So what am I doing wrong here?
Verify that your NVIDIA control panel or GeForce Experience is not limiting your display’s refresh rate. Generally, these programs have unusual pre-set settings that can be perplexing in my opinion.
Navigate to your Nvidia settings menu by opening the control panel and selecting "3D Settings." Examine these options for a feature called V-sync, and attempt to disable it. Additionally, check the “Refresh Rate Preference” setting; if it’s currently set to "Application-controlled," consider changing it to “Maximum Graphics Speed” to observe if this resolves the issue.
