Multiple PC problems involving USB connections.
Multiple PC problems involving USB connections.
I've faced multiple problems with my PC, tried various fixes without success. It seems these might be connected, though it's possible they're unrelated. The first problem I noticed is that occasionally, every now and then, all my peripherals connected via USB will disconnect briefly before reconnecting. I haven't made any changes that could have triggered this. I've turned off the "allow computer to turn this device off to save power" setting for all devices and USB ports in the device hub, and also disabled USB selective suspend in the power plan. This issue appears across all USB ports on my PC. I reviewed the Event Viewer last time but didn't find any relevant entries. I also checked performance metrics during these events, and there were no unusual readings for CPU, GPU, or RAM.
Recently, I've experienced problems with my Focusrite Scarlett Solo. I've reached out to focusrite support without receiving a response yet. The first issue occurred while playing games, where the delay in my microphone input would increase to several seconds, only resolving after disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
In the past two days, I've also been dealing with significant static noise through both my headphones and speakers, as well as distortion in any audio output. I'm not sure if these issues are linked, but it's possible that one might be affecting the other. It's unclear whether this could be related to the USB problems or vice versa. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Someone on Reddit proposed it might be due to conflicting RGB control programs. They mentioned NZXT cam, Corsair iCue, and Logi G Hub, Steelseries engine, and Sonar. I had Logi G Hub, NZXT cam, and Steelseries engine running. The problem started after I began using the Steelseries engine for sonar and RGB control, but stopped using it afterward. I tried disabling the RGB control on Steelseries, as suggested, but the issue persisted. I’m still unsure, but compatibility with Steelseries Sonar and my Scarlett Solo/Focusrite might be a factor if you’re using PC for music production.
Hmm, I have iCue installed, but I don't think there's any iCue service running. Even in the case that I do use products from those companies, I almost never install those pieces of software unless I need to use them for a firmware update or something. I usually uninstall them soon after, and make sure my system is scrubbed of those files.
I'm also using a traditional DAC as opposed to a "proper" audio interface, since I don't use a mic for recording, just a USB midi keyboard.
I'll double check to see if I have anything installed that you mentioned, though. Hmm.
