Multiple locks ceased functioning
A few days back some important components on my Corsair K55 stopped functioning. I unplugged it, then plugged it back in but it didn’t work again. I reinstalled Corsair iQUE and updated the Intel drivers for my chipset. I tested every USB port on my computer—most worked—but I used a different keyboard and it functioned perfectly. Another keyboard also resolved the issue. It seems my K55 might have a problem, but why would it work in my laptop?
I don't understand anything about it. Still, for an issue like this, it's better to check Corsair's forums https://forum.corsair.com/ since they handle these products.
After considering, the problem might stem from a corrupted keyboard profile saved on the device. Reinstalling the app may not resolve it if the profile remains. Deleting leftover data like settings is usually necessary. Check the appdata folder in both local and roaming directories for Corsair-related folders. You could try removing the icon, then manually deleting those folders, and finally reinstalling the icon. For extra caution, consider restarting the system between uninstallation and reinstallation to ensure complete removal.
I’m running out of options. Recently I discovered another solution that didn’t work. I need only one key pressed at once. For instance, if I move forward in CS:GO and then shift to straf, I stop walking forward. I’ve tried several fixes: reinstalling iCue, updating drivers, testing on another machine, disabling power tools, removing files from Control Panel, clearing the Program Files folder, using Failsafe to delete certain items, and even booting from a Windows installation drive. In Safe Mode I can delete all but one file. I’m also looking into a clean boot process. There’s malware suspicion around Corsair files in System32, but removal is blocked for unknown reasons. I’ve removed everything labeled “Corsair” from Device Manager and found hidden files in C: that seem suspicious. iCue feels increasingly like malicious software. I’m stuck and considering a full Windows reinstall.
It might have been a Windows update causing an issue. This has happened before. Once, after a Windows update, three of my drives lost ownership of all folders and files. Whenever I tried to open anything, I was forced to use administrator rights. Even after adjusting ownership settings in the security tab for each main folder, the problem persisted. Eventually, I had to back up data from those three drives one at a time—because of the volume involved—and reformat each drive, transferring the data back and repeating the process for the next. This situation has never occurred again.
