I had a bit of trouble with my setup, so here’s what happened: A few days back I bought a 3070 TI. After installation, I checked my system and realized I needed to boost my CPU speed. I wanted the CPU to run at 3600 MHz instead of the default 2666 MHz with XMP settings. I did it, and now my CPU is clocked at about 4.3 GHz. The cooler handled it without overheating—no more than 50°C during testing. I ran stress tests for around 90 minutes using Prime95, and everything worked fine. My RAM stayed at 3600 MHz as well. Then I got the 3070 TI, but my PC started showing errors like “Error occurred, system needs to restart.” It only happened when I opened certain apps—RGB Fusion and Minecraft Launcher—and after a restart it worked. On Chrome, WhatsApp, and settings, some text disappeared or I saw strange black squares everywhere. I’m really confused because despite getting a stable overclock and a good machine, I’m still new to this stuff. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Did you remove the drivers from the previous 1660 model? That seems quite probable.

Display Driver Uninstaller is a helpful resource. The video by JayzTwoCents demonstrates its usage clearly.

Thanks, unfortunately that didn’t fix the problem. I checked my control panel and all the drivers I found for my new graphics card. It seems I might have installed the driver manually—GeForce Experience didn’t work alone, so I opened the driver file and let it install itself (I know, a bit confusing). I followed a video tutorial to help me through it.

According to @Alinz, it's best to clear all previous drivers with DDU before retrying

Did the DDU function fail? Were you running it in Safe Mode?

All graphics drivers from your GPU are affected, including the latest ones. Clearing them won’t restore images you’ve already saved.

Honestly, I’m completely confused about safe mode and how to get into it...

Watch the video shared by JayzTwoCents as @Alinz mentioned. Using DDU in Safe Mode ensures only GPU drivers are wiped, not the entire system. After completion, restart Windows and it will typically load with lower resolution until a generic MS driver is applied or the GPU drivers are reinstalled.
