I own several unique gadgets, all built by a specific maker, experiencing odd and sporadic connection problems. These units function as kiosks, lacking high performance. They link to the local network without trouble, but I can view them online through a WAN using remote management tools. Occasionally, HTTPS requests fail intermittently on the device. Sometimes they resume after a short time or keep trying to load a webpage but never establish a connection unless I power off the unit. No matter which site I attempt, the issue persists—queries always fail to resolve. I’ve recorded network traffic with Wireshark; you’ll notice outbound DNS requests, but sometimes no reply appears. The device tries retransmissions before giving up until the page refreshes. At times it works again, other times not at all. In the Windows Event Viewer, DNS errors (Event ID 1014) appear for various URLs, including the one I need. These devices run nonstop, restarting daily early in the morning. They stay updated with regular Windows updates (no feature upgrades since it’s an Enterprise IoT setup). This problem has persisted for months and is becoming increasingly frustrating. Assistance would be invaluable. Things I’ve already attempted: cleared DNS cache on device and browser; changed DNS servers on both device and router; assigned a static IP; ran SFC scan to check Windows file integrity; reinstalled drivers; disabled all services except essential Windows ones; manually listed URLs in the Windows Host file to bypass DNS; used Ethernet-only connection; reimaged the device; reset TCP/IP stack.

Details:
- Specs: Intel Celeron, Atom, J1900 processors; 4 cores; 4 logical processors
- RAM: 4 GB
- Network: Realtek PCIe GbE NIC; Wi-Fi NIC; Ethernet only
- OS: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC (Build 17763)
- Updates: Regular Windows updates, no feature upgrades
- Troubleshooting: DNS issues, service management, IP configuration

The shared device they all go through to reach the internet is likely a router or DHCP server. Have you checked the router settings, DNS configurations, and firewall logs for any blocks?
