These are definitely personal takes, since I’m really into Overwatch and have loved TF2 for almost six years. I’m looking forward to the upcoming matchmaking and have experience with 6s and highlander lobbies. I just started playing Black Ops 3 on PC and it’s been great so far—no issues with hackers. Fistful of Frags has offered some of the best multiplayer FPS action I’ve had in a while for a pretty simple game.
VAC still has value. I've never encountered a hacker being blocked on a VAC server.
Absolutely, give it a shot in the EU—it's the most exciting place on the planet, particularly with Russians around. They seem to thrive on the opportunities there.
Read about Russia's struggle with a major doping scandal and the IAAF president's shifting stance. The story highlights the challenges faced in addressing the issue.
I've been enjoying CS GO since the 1.3 beta, and while there are always cheaters, it doesn't really impact my daily play. I seldom encounter obvious spin-bot instant win hacks, and even with cheats, success isn't guaranteed at my level. Still, it remains a fun and manageable experience for me. Nonetheless, seeing so many people cheat is a bit disheartening for someone who plays regularly.
I've seen hackers bother me too, especially in older titles where people end up losing money just to get banned. Games like Call of Duty, particularly Ghosts, are notorious for this issue. It's not a huge deal for Ghosts since it was a poor experience, but it's definitely something to be aware of. Other multiplayer games are also affected, so don't take it personally. TL;DR – relax.
I don't trust anyone in FPS games. BF4 with players using map hacks or whatever, anyone can be cheating and you won't even know it. There are so many players reaching 100+ kills with little to no death count, no one bats and eye. Everything about it is just sketchy in general.
VAC doesn't do much... It's been annoying me several times while playing CS:GO (though I don't hack...) and I've faced opponents who clearly demonstrate how strong VAC is.
