He’s still able to play well in multiplayer with another friend, but it hasn’t worked for him lately. It seems to have stopped functioning about a year ago. Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this or what might be causing the issue? Thanks!

Consider activating UPNP on your router, switching off your firewall, and checking for updates. Share what steps you've taken so far; we'll do our best to assist!

I haven't made any deliberate changes yet, not even to my router settings or my computer. I refreshed punkbuster a few weeks back, but it didn't solve the issue.

Start by enabling UPNP, then forward the ports BFBC2 uses. If that doesn’t help, install the game with all updates and additional features. Let me know if it works afterward—I’ll look up more info and ask a friend for help.

UPNPC is likely already active. My router is a fritz!Box, which means it should follow the recommended settings, but it might need a system admin's input. I've already attempted to uninstall and reinstall it before.
