Multi-platform local network
Multi-platform local network
Hello everyone, welcome! I'm still getting familiar with the forum, so please give me a chance if anything seems off. Borderlands 3 is expected in about two weeks, and I'm planning a gaming session with some friends. We all use different setups, so I'm curious if anyone knows how to create a cross-platform LAN experience. I have two Xbox One consoles and one PS4 LMD.
The announcement for AFAIK cross-platform in Borderlands 3 has not been made.
I have limited knowledge of games but I enjoy imagining my understanding of networking. Do you want them to talk directly to each other, and is it okay for different platforms to work together? Are you thinking about joining a distant online server and will those systems support multiple platforms?
It was really disappointing. I thought I could set up a connection between the consoles for a multi-platform offline co-op experience.
Handling consoles can be challenging because they’re designed for specific use cases. I haven’t come across a game that works on consoles through peer-to-peer (excluding Nintendo systems) without needing an internet connection. If you link to external servers, it should function normally, but the main problem lies in sharing content across different platforms, which is something most people handle effortlessly.
