I understand this motherboard is a bit outdated, but I managed to get a great deal. I upgraded from my Gigabyte GA-H81M-H to an MSI Z97M. All my Steam games and other programs are on my SSD and HDD. Should I restore the drives and replace the motherboard or is there another way I can switch it? Thanks a lot.

You might need to reinstall the OS completely.

I understand this motherboard is a bit outdated, but I managed to secure a solid discount. I’m upgrading from my Gigabyte GA-H81M-H to an MSI Z97M. All my Steam games and other programs are stored on SSDs and HDDs—should I restore the drives or swap the board? What steps should I follow to replace the motherboard? Thanks a lot. What operating system is this? You might need to reinstall the OS completely. Windows 10 Home - 64 bit Before making any changes, check out: This will handle activation and licensing for new hardware. A full reinstall could be necessary, though Windows 10 is generally more tolerant than older versions. Be ready if you decide to reinstall.
